Acid House

It is characterized by the repetition of simple phrases and a minimalist structure, and develops a euphoric sound on a four-on-the-floor beat. This genre was particularly linked to the "rave culture" in the UK and became explosively popular among young people. Its unique sound has had a major influence on many electronic music genres, such as techno and trance, which followed.
